Players will be drafted onto teams of 6 – 8. All players must bring a dark and a light jersey. All players will play 3 games, round robin style within your Division – with a “winner” being crowned at the end of the night. All players will also receive food and a drink ticket good for any beverage (includes alcohol).

All games will be played in the following format:

The rink will be divided on the red line with our new portable full size dasher system – with radius corners. This will effectively make two identical half size rinks. Games will be played pond hockey style – with pond hockey goals and no goalies (don’t fear goalies – we will have future events planned with goalies).

Each game will consist of 3 v 3 play, with two 13 minute halves and a 2 minute warm up. Each playing surface will have a scorekeeper/off-ice referee/facilitator. Players will be responsible to call THEIR own penalties (think pickup basketball – you call it when you commit it), but the facilitator is there to help in case you left your integrity in the locker room. ALL PENALTIES will result in a penalty shot – an uncontested shot at the pond hockey goal from 10 feet in front of YOUR net.

When goals are scored, the team who scores gives the opposing team the opportunity to retrieve the puck from the net and begin play. The objective of the pond hockey format is to play 3 fast paced and fun games in a short period of time. You WILL sweat, you WILL smile, and you WILL be looking forward to the next event.
